I’m Mustafa “Vic” Uzumeri, the sole proprietor of Deeperpoint Inc., a Canadian corporation dedicated to exploring applications of artificial intelligence in networking and market making. In effect, Deeperpoint is my “pay it forward retirement project”.

From my early work on transportation projects and wind tunnel sales globally, through founding iPOV (a video eLearning technology company), to recent projects in agricultural exports and supply chain standardization, I have operated in settings that required complex matching of scattered and disparate needs. My 26-year academic career (mostly at Auburn University) provided a theoretical grounding in how complex systems function and fail, while my concurrent business ventures offered real-world lessons and earned skills and (mostly) validation of academic concepts. I researched everything from manufacturing quality standards to supply chain dynamics, learning patterns, and product variety management. My experience includes developing video-based training systems for manufacturers, creating innovative educational delivery platforms, and building technology solutions for complex operational challenges. This combination of rigorous academic analysis and practical business implementation inspired Cosolvent as a potential solution for automating the nuanced matching that these specialized situations require.

Through Deeperpoint, I get to play and personally manage and fund the development of several interesting exploratory projects. My current goal is to explore ways to make “thin” markets work better.  I believe (or at least strongly suspect) that generative AI … specifically Large (and also Small) Language Models combined with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (LLM+RAG) and maybe selective fine-tuning … can automate the nuanced matching and communication that human experts traditionally provide. In effect, AI technology can help to “thicken” thin markets and make them more efficient and accessible.

Guiding Principles

Simplicity and Depth

With the advent of generative AI, good tools don’t have to be complex or expensive —they just need to answer well thought-out questions.

Open Collaboration

Cosolvent champions open development and shared problem-solving. There are far more thin markets than there are big companies to address them.

Eager Iteration

The work is built step-by-step, starting small and evolving through feedback and reflection. AI (LLM, SLM and RAG) technology offers an opportunity to experiment and prototype wild ideas.
