Open Credential Verification Exchange (OCVE)

Vision

OCVE provides privacy-preserving verification of academic and skills credentials so small employers and training providers can trust each other without heavy integrations. The vision is a lightweight, open standard for proving learning and proficiency that works across community colleges, bootcamps, and on-the-job training. Sponsors expand opportunity and reduce hiring friction for overlooked talent pools.

Problem

Credential data is scattered, unverifiable, or slow to confirm; small employers lack HR tech to validate at scale; and learners can’t easily present skills beyond a resume. This creates bias, delays, and mismatches that hurt both employers and candidates—especially in thin labor markets.

Solution

Cosolvent standardizes issuer and verifier roles, consent flows, and verification proofs. With LLM+RAG, participants upload syllabi, competency rubrics, assessment PDFs, and reference letters and ask “does this certificate map to our technician role requirements?” with cited alignment. ClientSynth models synthetic hiring funnels and training pathways so sponsors can see which credentials unlock mobility and retention.

Business Model

Revenue includes verification fees and subscriptions for employers or consortia. Workforce boards and foundations can sponsor cohorts in priority sectors, with outcomes dashboards (placement, retention) building a durable case for expansion.
